Introduction
Incheon National University (INU) Department of Mathematics serves more than forty students every year and features nationally recognized faculty with outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research, and service. Department of Mathematics offers graduate programs in the degrees of Master science and Doctor of Philosophy. The programs include Differential Geometry, Probability, Functional Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Combinatorics, Number theory, and Partial Differential Equations.
The graduate programs are designed to produce highly qualified mathematicians ready to enter professions in academia, industrial and governmental sectors.

Goals
The goals of the INU Mathematics Department’s graduate program are:
- Develop the students’ ability to do independent research and prepare students for more advanced studies in mathematics
- Provide advanced training and preparation for professional careers as mathematicians in academic, engineering, scientific and business fields.

Principles
Minimum requirement for admission
- B.A. or B.S. (or M.A. or M.S) degree in mathematics or related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher with 60 credits of coursework from the Department of Mathematics is required.
Master of Science (or Ph. D.) Degree Requirements
- The requirements for the Master of Science degree are minimum of 24 credits of graduate coursework from the Department of Mathematics.
- Students must complete at least 1course from each of the three distributional areas : Analysis, Algebra, and Toplogy.
- Principles of our department are based on the policy of the graduate School of INU.
