Introduction
The Dept. of Mass communication aims to cultivate leaders within the field of communication through research on communication phenomenon, a core element of modern society. The Dept. of Mass Communication conducts theoretical and practical training and aims to develop professionals in various domains, such as communication, journalism, broadcasting, advertising, public relations, new media, and cultural studies.
Goals
- Educational Ideology
- Improve the understanding of mass communication phenomenon in modern society and develop academic creativity through this. Also, research and demonstrate academic knowledge by obtaining practical knowledge and experience on mass media
- Educational Goal
- The educational goal of the department is to foster professionals related to journalism, broadcasting, advertising, etc. by researching mass media which is the core institute that drives the modern society and to foster individuals who will lead the nation and the local community.

Principles
- Major courses are shared between Master’s and PhD programs for efficiency.
- The academic supervisor is determined in the second semester with an approval from the department chair.
- Students can take no more than 9 credits per semester.
- The candidacy for a master degree requires at least one oral or poster presentation at nationwide academic conference.
- The candidacy for a doctorate degree requires at least two published or accepted papers in renowned academic journal
