Introduction
Goals
The IME department aims to foster professionals with systemic knowledge and problem-solving abilities in decision problems for various industrial applications. The IME department are offering advanced graduate programs (Masters and Ph.D.) based on data-driven analytic techniques and industrial projects to meet the needs for various industrial fields. Graduate students at IME are expected to improve their capabilities in the following interdisciplinary research areas:
- Product design and development
- Production and service process management
- Logistics management, Supply chain management
- Smart factory management
- Big-data analysis and management
- Manufacturing systems management
- Ergonomics
- Human factor
- IoT based UX/UI design and user assessment
- Healthcare and Sustainable systems

Principles
- Master program (M.S.)
- 4 or more the graduate-level courses opened by full-time professor must be earned
- 24 course credits must be earned.
- At least, 1 international conference proceeding related to M.S. thesis topic must be presented or 1 domestic or international journal related to M.S. thesis topic must be published in order to apply for a defense for M.S. thesis.
- M.S. thesis is approved.
- Ph.D. program (Ph.D.)
- 4 or more the graduate-level courses opened by full-time professor must be earned
- 36 course credits must be earned.
- At least, 2 domestic or international journals related to Ph.D. dissertation topic must be published in order to apply for a defense for M.S. thesis.
- Ph.D. dissertation is approved.
