Introduction
Welcome to INU’s Department of Architectural Design and Engineering. Since 1980, out department has made its best efforts to cultivate good academic atmosphere and keep track with most up-to-date architectural and urban environments. We offer various academic programs to fulfill your goal in the core areas of architectural design and engineering and urban design. With 15 academic staffs, strong interpersonal connections between our students and faculty and effective conduits between disciplines are the bedrock of our pursuit for academic excellence and vibrant academic activities. Furthermore the forthcoming Architectural Accreditation for M.Arch. will provide core design studios and elective courses. Graduates of the department may take various career paths depending on their specific majors.
Goals
The vision of architecture meets the demands of national and regional needs through high technology and art. The department aims to contribute to train creative and skillful architect, urban designer and architectural designer for creating new architectural culture and social welfare.

Principles
- The 5 professional fields(Architectural Planning and Design, Architectural Structure, Architectural Environment and Facilities, Constuction Management, Urban Design) are provided under the Department Curriculum Code. Master of Architecture(M.Arch.) is also offered.
- The candidacy for a master degree requires 24 credits(including 18 credits for mandatory courses). The candidacy for a M.Arch. requires 36 credits(including 24 credits for mandatory courses). The candidacy for a Ph.D. degree requires 60 credits(including 24 credits for master course and minimum 45 credits in our department).
- The candidacy for a master degree requires at least one hundred percent of journal articles at official indexed academic journals(For M.Arch program, refer to additional regulations of major of architecture and urban design.)
- An academic advisor is assigned within the first semester
