Introduction

With an increasing incidence of chronic diseases, rapidly aging populations, and environmental issues, our society is facing an unprecedented set of challenges. Biotechnology seeks to ensure the prosperity of mankind and the health of the planet by providing innovative solutions to these problems. At the Department of Bioengineering & Nano-Bioengineering, our focus is on producing tomorrow’s scientific leaders through world-class training in biotechnology, nanotechnology and interdisciplinary sciences. With a vibrant community of faculty members and graduate students, our diverse research laboratories and cutting-edge facilities provide a rich multidisciplinary environment to prepare students for dynamic careers in the scientific community. Our mission is to provide a firm foundation in interdisciplinary biotechnology research so that our students can make significant contributions to the areas of medicine, healthcare, chemistry, nano-materials, electronics, food, energy, and environment. Graduate students from the Department of Bioengineering & Nano-Bioengineering can pursue careers as world leaders in industry, academia, and government.

Goals

The Department of Bioengineering and Nano-Bioengineering, Incheon National University aims to educate creative engineers who play a leading role in the development of bioindustry through BT- and NT-based research and their convergence research and to train human resources who can contribute to both the local community and the global society based on their world-class competencies.

Principles

Both master's course and doctoral course should be single major (life / nano bioengineering).
Advisor appoints students according to their preferred major.
In principle, the department's operating rules should follow graduate school regulations.
The candidacy for a master degree requires at least one hundred percent of journal articles at official indexed
