Introduction
The Graduate School of the Department of Bio-Robot Systems Engineering is composed of faculty members with expertise and practical experience in the fields of mechanical engineering, electronical engineering, and biomedical engineering. We are cultivating high-quality trained engineers leading the field of convergence engineering and bio-health industry, while carrying out various research projects supported by Korean government and industry-academia cooperative projects in the following research areas.
- Development of rehabilitation robot using biomechanics and artificial intelligence
- Development of cranial nerve disease management platform
- Development of non-linear driveline analysis model
- Development of analysis models and measurement techniques for nonlinear characteristics of various types of mechanical systems
- Research on 3D-stem cell culture environment that mimics human body environment and manufacture of artificial tissue for transplantation
- Development of novel 3D-bioprocessing platforms to mass-produce stem cell-based medicinal products
- Development of design software for 3D-printing and optimal design for finite element analysis
- Research on effective algorithm for large-scale data analysis
- Research on algorithm for biological network and biomolecular analysis
- Research on process design and structural characteristics accompanying physical phenomena
- Research on optimal decision-making based on machine learning and mathematical optimization
Educational Goals
As the demand for the experts with master’s and/or doctorate degrees in the core fields of the 4th industrial revolution is gradually increasing, our Graduate School of Biomedical & Robotics Engineering aims to foster the following talents.
- Cultivating engineers equipped with the convergence intuition required in the high-tech fields of biomedical engineering and intelligent robotics and the ability to solve real-world problems in the actual industry
- Fostering global talent to lead technological innovation in the convergence bio-industry by combining mechanical and electronic engineering technologies with the biomedical field
- Cultivating professionals in the field of convergence that can lead technical communications between various disciplines smoothly beyond the boundaries between departments and disciplines
- Encouraging graduates to carry out industry-university cooperation research projects to support their employment, and direct a detailed roadmap for students who wish to continue their careers as researchers after graduating from graduate school to grow as scholars such as postdoctoral researchers, researchers at national institutions, and university professors
Bylaws for Department Operation
- Prior to admission, a laboratory is assigned to the applicant through consultation with the professor in the desired research field
- The department regulations for the Master's and doctoral degree courses and combined master's and doctoral course follow general graduate school regulations
