Introduction
The Department of Urban Construction Engineering aims to implement Metaverse's spatial information-based smart future city. To this end, it is a field of study that studies humanities and social studies such as public law, computer statistics, sociology, geography, and economics as well as urban engineering research fields (urban spatial information, GIS, land use, urban design studio, urban transportation, urban disaster safety, resilience, housing policy, and AI urban engineering). Researchers in this department aim to build a future city through analysis and research from a comprehensive academic perspective as well as major learning in the detailed research process to solve various urban problems.
Educational objectives
In order to realize the future of the city, that is, the "smart city" project, the current urban problems and crises must be overcome, and professional researchers in the field of urban engineering with various capabilities are needed.
In the research process of this department, various urban problems are solved by utilizing artificial intelligence, big data, and IoT-related technologies based on urban space big data in the intelligent information society. In particular, the educational goal is to foster talents who create new urban models of opportunities in each field such as urban planning, urban design, urban space composition and safety management, urban economy-based housing policy, and urban resilience.
As a strategy for this, it creates new knowledge information and values of smart cities through specialized research in various fields such as digital twinning, differentiated systems and policy and content development that reflect the needs of residents, and public-private cooperation.
